Helical & Spur Gear Pumps

Helical and Spur gear pumps can be likened to internally eccentric pumps that transport liquid through meshing and meshing gears. However, in these pumps, the gears have the same characteristics and rotate in opposite directions. These pumps are effective in transferring liquids with low to high viscosity. For the transportation of high viscosity liquids, the speed must be carefully adjusted. Depending on the viscosity, they are capable of transferring liquids up to 20 bar pressure. Thanks to their narrow internal structure, they provide a reliable and controllable flow, which makes them ideal for the transfer and dosing of sensitive substances such as polymers, fuels and chemical additives. When the pump is running, the circular motion provided by the motor is transmitted from the pump shaft to the gear (Slewing Gear).

As the Slewing Gear transfers this motion to the opposite gear in the opposite direction, a separation occurs between the gears, resulting in the creation of a vacuum in the suction area of the pump. This vacuum allows the pump to draw in a certain amount of liquid. The liquid that is drawn in travels through the tooth cavities and between the teeth and the casing towards the discharge section. The liquid does not pass between the teeth; in the discharge section, pressure is created by the meshing of the teeth and the liquid is ejected. At each rotation of the pump shaft, the total volume of the pump is transferred, which indicates that the capacity of the pump is proportional to its size and speed. Helical & Spur Gear Pumps are classified under three main categories: Helical Gear Pumps with Outer Ball and Spur Gear Pumps Driven by Outer Ball. Helical Gear Pumps are preferred in areas where high efficiency and uninterrupted flow is required and silent operation is required. These pumps have the ability to transport small and pressure sensitive particles in the liquid during transfer without damaging them. Spur Gear pumps are ideal for applications requiring medium pressure, while Outer Ball and Outer Ball Driven Helical Gear pumps are ideal for the transfer of abrasive liquids, non-lubricating liquids and high temperature liquids. In the nomenclature of our products, the abbreviation “DB” stands for Deep Groove Ball pumps and “DBT” stands for Deep Groove Ball and Driven pumps.
